Rosslyn's 'Central Place' to Get Four New Fast-Casual Restaurants: Report

Nando's Peri-Peri, The Little Beat, Compass Coffee and sweetgreen will be part of the new building's grand opening, according to a report.

ARLINGTON, VA — Rosslyn is about to get a lot more dining options. The new Central Place development that will be opening soon has signed or is close to signing deals with four fast-casual restaurants, according to a report.

Washington Business Journal is reporting that JBG Cos., the developer behind Central Place, expects to bring in restaurants Nando's Peri-Peri, The Little Beet, Compass Coffee and sweetgreen. The report also cited a source as saying that Cava Grill could also open at the location. In addition, the property will seek a full-service restaurant tenant.

Central Place sits next to the Rosslyn Metro station and includes a residential and an office building with a plaza in between. Its biggest tenant will be CEB Inc., which will house 1,300-plus employees in the building.

"Developed by JBG Cos., Central Place includes the second-tallest mixed-use buildings under construction in the Washington, D.C., area, ranking behind only the forthcoming 470-ft Capital One Bank headquarters in Tysons Corner, Va. At 387-ft tall, Central Place includes two 31-story towers—a 377-unit residential high-rise and a 750,000-sq-ft office building," according to an August JBG statement. "Both projects broke ground in 2014. The residential tower is scheduled to be completed in early 2017, and the office tower is to follow in 2018. Clark Construction, Bethesda, Md., is the general contractor, and Beyer Blinder Belle is the architect for both towers."

The restaurants will join a number of fast-casual dining options already in Rosslyn, including Chop't, Potbelly Sandwich Shop, Cosi and Chipotle, to name just a few.
