Run in the Marine Corps Marathon and Support Paralyzed Veterans

Race is sold out but MCM charity partners have spots available; but you'll need to act fast.

The Marine Corps Marathon, held held each year in Arlington and DC, is so popular that this year’s race sold out in under 10 minutes, leaving many runners bib-less and disappointed.

With the August 27 registration deadline just a few weeks away, there is one way you can still secure your spot in the sold-out, historic race.

Paralyzed Veterans of America, the nation’s foremost advocate for paralyzed servicemen and women, has spots available on its charity endurance racing team, REVolution (Racing to Empower Veterans).

To grow support for its programs and services that benefit veterans nationwide, Paralyzed Veterans of America launched REVolution earlier this year.

“Racing to Empower Veterans – or REVolution, for short – gives able-bodied endurance runners a unique opportunity to help and impact our nation’s heroes while participating in an activity they enjoy,” said Mark Dowis, associate executive director of development and marketing for Paralyzed Veterans of America. “The Marine Corps Marathon, which has helped to honor veterans and members of the military for 40 years, will be REVolution’s debut event.”

More than 20 athletes have already signed up to race the Marine Corps Marathon on behalf of Paralyzed Veterans of America. As a team, they have raised more than $8,400 to date.

“The money raised by REVolution runners will help fund the organization’s many programs and services, including our adaptive sports programs for paralyzed veterans, benefits assistance, caregiver support, legislative advocacy and research to find a cure for paralysis,” said Al Kovach, Jr., national president of Paralyzed Veterans of America. “Thanks to your generosity, we can continue to offer these resources to veterans free of charge.”

Runners who sign-up to race with Team REVolution are asked to raise a minimum of $500, which includes the $130 race registration fee.

Sign-up today to race on behalf of Paralyzed Veterans of America, and guarantee your spot in the sold-out Marine Corps Marathon. Registration closes August 27.
