Severe Weather Prompts Ground Stops, Delays At NoVA Airports
As of 5 p.m. Wednesday, ground stops were in place at both Northern Virginia airports as thunderstorms moved through the region.

Severe weather moving through the region prompted ground stops and delays at two Northern Virginia airports on Wednesday.
Around 3 p.m., the Federal Aviation Administration issued a ground stop at Dulles International Airport due to thunderstorms. The stop is in effect until 7 p.m. with a medium probability of extension.

Around 4:30 p.m., a ground stop was also issued at Reagan National Airport due to severe weather, according to the FAA. The stop is in effect until 7:30 p.m. with a medium probability of extension.
A severe thunderstorm watch remains in effect until 8 p.m. for the cities of Alexandria, Fairfax, Falls Church, Manassas, and Manassas Park, as well as Culpeper, Fairfax, Fauquier, Loudoun, and Prince William counties.
