A loss prevention officer tried to stop two suspects who had shoplifted clothing accessories from a store in the mall just before 2 p.m. on May 27 when the women tried to flee in a vehicle in the mall's parking garage, according to a police statement and spokesperson Ashley Savage.

"The suspects then attempted to run over the loss prevention officer and a police officer with the vehicle," the statement noted. "The suspects fled the scene in a silver Nissan Altima with the stolen merchandise."
