Starting Saturday, This Airline Will Vanish from Reagan National

Here's the scoop if you're a frequent flyer.

If you do a lot of flying out of Reagan National, there is a big change coming this Saturday. You will no longer see US Airways — it’s flying off into the sunset.

Beginning Saturday at Reagan National, US Airways becomes American Airlines, operating out of Terminals B and C, according to American.

American Shuttle flights and ticket counters will move to Terminal B, as well as ticket counters for Priority. Ticket counters for Main Cabin will be in Terminal C.

The deal that merged US Airways with American took place two years ago, but the last US Airways flight takes place Saturday; its Web site will go dark and its reservations system will completely merge with American, a recent article in The Washington Post points out.

“I tell people, we’re engaged but not married,” Amy Mason, a US Airways customer service supervisor in Charlotte told The Post. “On October 17, we’ll be married.”
