Stolen Catalytic Converters, Tools Found In Car In Arlington: Police

Arlington police found an unoccupied vehicle early Wednesday with several catalytic converters and tools used to steal the converters.

ARLINGTON, VA — Arlington County police found an unoccupied vehicle near Chain Bridge early Wednesday morning with several catalytic converters and tools used to steal the converters.

At about 3:20 a.m. on Wednesday, police officers were dispatched to the 5400 block of 23rd Street North near Langston Boulevard in response to a report of people tampering with vehicles. A witness said they saw three men trying door handles of parked vehicles before they left in a vehicle.

Police saw the reported vehicle in the area of North Glebe Road and Military Road. The driver quickly accelerated when he saw the police officers.

Police found the vehicle abandoned in the area of 41st Street North at Glebe Road near Chain Bridge. A police helicopter and officers searched for the men but did not find them.
