Stolen Vehicle Recovered; 2nd Stolen Vehicle Eludes Police

Arlington County Police pursued two stolen vehicles Monday might, recovering one while failing to stop the other from escaping.

ARLINGTON, VA — Arlington County Police pursued but failed to recover a vehicle reported stolen Monday night from the Aurora Hills neighborhood, according to the daily crime report.

Police responded around 10:30 p.m., for the report of a stolen vehicle in the 2600 block of Fort Scott Drive. Arriving officers learned that the victim observed an unknown suspect entering his Ford F-150 and driving away.

An officer on the way to the call observed the Ford F-150 and a Toyota Land Cruiser traveling at a high rate of speed through the area. Although the officer attempted to make a traffic stop, the driver of the F-150 refused to stop and fled northbound on Interstate 395.

The Toyota Land Cruiser had previously been reported stolen and was later recovered unoccupied after colliding with multiple parked vehicles. Two occupants escaped from the vehicle and left the scene on foot before police arrived.

ACPD established a perimeter and began conducting a canvass of the neighborhood, but the effort produced negative results. This case remains under investigation.
