Suspect Attacks Store Clerk, Steals Cigarettes In Crystal City

ARLINGTON, VA -- Arlington County Police are investigating a robbery that took place early Monday morning at a Crystal City business, according to a ACPD's daily crime report.

On Jan. 27, around 4:40 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 400 block of 23rd Street S., for the report of a larceny. Arriving on the scene, officers learned the suspect attempted to strike a store clerk before slipping behind the counter and stealing cigarettes. The suspect then fled the scene. No injuries were reported.

Police describe the suspect as a black male with a partial beard and black hair. He was carrying a backpack and wearing a gray jacket, black beanie hat and black shirt. Police are continuing to investigate this incident.
