Suspect Charged In Late-Night Burglary At Closed Building In Penrose: ACPD
A 43-year-old man was arrested late Thursday night for breaking into a closed commercial building in Penrose, according to police.
ARLINGTON, VA — Arlington County police arrested a 43-year-old man they say broke into a commercial building in Penrose late Thursday night, according to authorities.
Officers responded around 10:50 p.m. to the 900 block of South Walter Reed Drive to investigate the report of a burglary, according to the incident report. They determined that a man had forced his way into the vestibule of the closed commercial building.
The suspect, who was identified as Yohannes Gebreyesus of an undetermined address, was taken into custody, according to police. During the investigation, the officers recovered burglarious tools.

Gebreyesus was charged with burglary, possession of burglarious tools and destruction of property, according to ACPD. He was then held without bond.
Gebreyesus was arraigned Friday morning in Arlington General District Court and a preliminary hearing was scheduled for 11:30 a.m. on April 6, according to court documents.

The most serious charge Gebreyesus is facing it the possession of burglarious tools, which is a Class 5 felony. If convicted on this charge, he faces a possible sentence of one to five years in prison or up to 12 months in jail and/or a fine of up to $2,500, under Virginia law.
