7 Foul Statements By ESPN's Britt McHenry That Put Her In Penalty Box

“I’m in the news sweetheart, I will [expletive deleted] sue this place.”

That’s just one of the choice tidbits from a blistering video that has surfaced of ESPN sportscaster Britt McHenry in one of the more ridiculous tirades you will ever see from anybody at any time anywhere.

ESPN public relations confirmed Thursday that McHenry has been suspended from the sports giant. Taking to Twitter, the company used far fewer words than those McHenry spewed at the Virginia towing company employee on the receiving end of a tirade that could have been a Saturday Night Live parody of self-absorbed quasi-celebrities: “Update from ESPN: Britt McHenry has been suspended for 1 week effectively immediately.”

McHenry had previously tweeted her exasperation after getting towed but has since deleted it. McHenry said her car was towed while she was dining Sunday, April 5, in Arlington. McHenry tweeted a message about her mishap to ARLnow.

  1. “So I could be a college dropout and do the same thing?”
  2. “I’m on television and you’re in a f****** trailer, honey.”
  3. “Lose some weight, baby girl.”
  4. “That’s why I have a degree and you don’t.”
  5. “That’s all you care about is taking people’s money…with no education, no skill set. Just wanted to clarify that.”
  6. “Why? Because I have a brain and you don’t?”
  7. And, of course, “I’m in the news sweetheart, I will [expletive deleted] sue this place.”

McHenry apologized online for her actions, saying on Twitter:

“In an intense and stressful moment, I allowed my emotions to get the best of me and said some insulting and regrettable things. As frustrated as I was, I should always choose to be respectful and take the high road. I am so sorry for my actions and will learn from this mistake.”
