TJ Maxx Moving Into Pentagon Row: Report
The clothing retailer is taking over the old space abandoned by Hudson Trail Outfitters.

A TJ Maxx store will be coming to Pentagon Row, taking over the space that Hudson Trail Outfitters abandoned last year.
ArlNow.com reported that a building permit indicates that the clothing retailer TJ Max will be the new occupant of the space on South Joyce Street after Hudson Trail Outfitters went out of business after nearly five decades.
This will make TJ Maxx one of the largest retailers on Pentagon Row by square footage. The other closest TJ Maxx stores are in Falls Church, Potomac Yard in Alexandria, and in D.C.

Maryland-based Hudson Trail Outfitters shuttered four D.C. area stores after five decades in business. They also had locations in Fairfax, Rockville and Tenleytown in D.C. in addition to the Pentagon City location.
"The retail landscape has changed so much within the last 36 months and the Company has decided that the time has come to begin to ‘wind down’ all company affairs, knowing that it never had to compromise any excellence standards on behalf of the community," Hudson Trail Outfitters CEO Sandy Cohan said in a statement according to the report. "The community and the Company have always supported each other with such dignity and respect, and the Company will always be proud of the role that it played in helping to improve the lives of literally hundreds of thousands of people, employees and customers, within the DC Metro Area."
