Because the district leans strongly Democratic, it is likely the winner of the Democratic primary will secure a win in the November general election. Republicans have already chosen Karina Lipsman, a refugee from Ukraine who became a U.S. citizen, as the candidate to face the Democratic primary winner in the general election.
An acceptable form of identification is required to vote in person in Virginia, but it does not have to be a photo ID. Examples of accepted ID include a Virginia driver's license or ID, current utility bill, bank statement, government check, paycheck, or other government document with the voter's name and address.
