ARLINGTON, VA — As of Tuesday, 100 percent of Arlington residents aged 75 and older who pre-registered with the county have been sent a notification to schedule an appointment to receive a COVID-19 vaccination, Arlington County said Wednesday.
Among residents 65 and older, 87 percent of them who pre-registered with the county have received a notification to schedule an appointment. The county said it expects every resident in the 65 and older category who pre-registered with the county by Feb. 12 will receive a notification to schedule an appointment by March 12.
Feb. 12 was the day that the Virginia Department of Health ordered all local health districts to close their vaccine registration forms by 5 p.m. to allow the names to be integrated into a statewide registration system. Arlington County residents in these age categories who registered on the statewide system after Feb. 12 will have to wait longer to be contacted by the county to set up a COVID-19 vaccination appointment.
