Village Sweet Bakery Opens in Arlington

Cookies, cupcakes and more are baked daily from scratch.

Lucky residents of the Westover neighborhood in Arlington now have Village Sweet Bakery where they can stop by for coffee and sweets that range from all sorts of creative cookies, cupcakes and more. The menu includes gluten-free and vegan options.

Owner Dawn Hart held a “soft opening” on March 14 and now has the bakery up and running and open for business. The bakery is also a great spot to stop by after dining at next-door neighbor, Lost Dog Cafe, another popular neighborhood eatery.

The bakery, located at 5872 Washington Blvd., has attracted loads of attention, featured in The Washington Post and Northern Virginia Magazine.

Hart got her start decorating cookies with her company, the Monster Cookie Co. The cookies are miniature works of art.

Hours are Tuesday-Friday, 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. The shop is closed on Mondays.
