Virginia Tech Opening $1 Billion Campus At Amazon HQ2: Report

Amazon chose Crystal City as one of its two new headquarters, and Virginia Tech reportedly will be opening a huge new campus there.

ARLINGTON, VA -- The hits just keep on coming after Amazon's blockbuster announcement that half of its new second headquarters would be located in Crystal City: now, Virginia Tech is announcing a new $1 billion campus at the new HQ2, according to a report.

The Richmond Times-Dispatch reports that the 1-million-square-foot Virginia Tech Innovation Campus will be situated at the new Amazon HQ2 campus that is being dubbed "National Landing" and includes Crystal City as well as parts of Pentagon City and Potomac Yard across the Arlington border in Alexandria.

This project of building a higher education package in this area is cited as a key reason that Amazon chose NoVa for its 2nd HQ, the report noted.
