On The Road
Telegraph Rd. is closed in both directions between Franconia Rd. and Sharon Chapel Rd. Wednesday morning due to a water main break. Fairfax County Police said an extended closure of Telegraph Rd. is anticipated. Motorists should follow a detour around the closed section of Telegraph Rd.

A crash was reported on Franconia Rd. at 7:24 a.m., impacting both directions at Loisdale Rd. and Commerce St. Drivers should follow police direction.

At 7:42 a.m., a crash was reported on Braddock Rd., in both ways on ramp to Inner Loop I-495/Capital Beltway. Drivers should stay alert on the right side.
At 7:16 a.m., a crash was reported on I-395/Southeast-Southwest Freeway westbound after Maine Ave SW. Motorists should proceed with caution.
A disabled vehicle was reported on the I-66 westbound ramp to VA-28/Centreville (#53) at 7:14 a.m. Motorists should proceed with caution.
A crash was reported at 6:19 a.m. on the I-95 northbound ramp from VA-294/Prince William Pkwy (#158). Drivers should stay alert on the right side.
Fire department activity was reported Wednesday morning in Washington, D.C., at Bladensburg Rd NE northbound at Mt Olivet Rd. and 17th St. NE. The right lane is blocked.
A disabled vehicle was reported on I-395 northbound near Seminary Rd. at 6:24 a.m. Motorists should stay alert on the right side.
A disabled vehicle was reported at 6:42 a.m. on southbound I-95 at mile 170.9, about 0.9 miles north of I-395 Exit 169, in Fairfax County. No lanes are closed.
The traffic shift on I-66 East between Blake Lane and Nutley Street is scheduled for Wednesday night, July 27. Drivers will see the split Thursday morning.
Overnight closures of the ramp from I-66 East to I-495 North are planned to continue through Thursday, July 28 from 10 p.m. to 4:30 a.m.
Demolition of the north side of the Georgetown Pike Bridge over I-495 is scheduled to start as early as Wednesday night and last about three weeks, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation.
On The Rails
Starting Monday, Virginia Railway Express said the main stairs and ramp are unavailable at Leeland Road station in Stafford due to maintenance. The work is expected to take two to four weeks. Passengers who need the ramp are encouraged to use an alternate station.
On the Orange Line, the Minnesota Ave, Deanwood, Cheverly, Landover and New Carrollton remain closed through Labor Day due to a summer platform improvement project. Local and express shuttles are available at Stadium-Armory.
Weather
Forecasters are calling for mostly cloudy weather again on Wednesday, with a high near 88. The heat index is expected to reach 95 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. Scattered showers and thunderstorms, some severe, are in the forecast for the afternoon and evening hours. The low will reach only 74 tonight, according to forecasters.
Steamy conditions, with a chance of storms each day, are expected to continue through Friday.
