Weapons Charges Filed Against Alexandria Man Following An Argument

Arlington County Police arrested an Alexandria man who they say displayed a firearm to someone he was arguing with on Friday afternoon.

ARLINGTON, VA — A 47-year-old Alexandria man is facing two weapons charges following an argument that took place Friday afternoon in the Long Brach Creek area, according to Arlington County Police.

Officers were dispatched around 1:03 p.m. to the 2900 block of S. Glebe Road for the report of a person with a gun. Police determined that a man was outside of a residential building when another man, who was inside a vehicle, started a conversation with him. The conversation turned into an argument and the man in the showed that he had a firearm, according to police. When the victim ran off to notify the police, the man in the vehicle drove away.

After a lookout was broadcast, the responding officers located the suspect's vehicle and conducted a traffic stop on Route 110 near Memorial Circle, according to police. The officers took the driver into custody and searched the vehicle, where they found a firearm.
