Arlington Public Schools Makes Decision For Thursday Due To Winter Storm
Arlington Public Schools is adjusting its operations due to a winter weather forecast Thursday.
ARLINGTON, VA — With snow in the forecast for the Thursday morning commute, Arlington Public Schools has decided to close all schools and offices on Jan. 20.
APS announced the decision on social media and in an alert on the school system's official website.
The National Weather Service issued a winter weather advisory for Arlington and other parts of the region from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday. Forecasters expect snow accumulations up to 2 inches. Precipitation is expected to begin as rain and transition to snow in time for the Thursday morning commute. Another slight winter storm threat is possible Friday night into Saturday.
