What's Open, Closed For Christmas 2020 In Arlington
Many services are closed on Thursday and Friday for the Christmas holiday.

ARLINGTON, VA — As Christmas approaches this week, families are tasked with modifying holiday plans to limit the chances of spreading the virus that causes COVID-19 illness. One thing that remains the same is the closure or modification of many services in Arlington for the holiday.
Here's a look at what's open and what's closed in Arlington:
All Arlington County government offices, libraries, and facilities will be closed on Thursday, Dec. 24, and Friday, Nov. 25, in observance of Christmas.

Below are the schedule changes to know for the Christmas holiday around Arlington:
- Courts: Circuit Court, General District Court, Juvenile & Domestic Relations Court is closed on Friday.
- No Trash and recycling: No collections on Friday, Dec. 25; regular Friday routes shift to Saturday, Dec. 26.
- Metered Parking will not be enforced on Thursday and Friday.
- DMV & DMV Select: All DMV offices are closed. Visit DMV's Online Services to access many available.
- Human Services: Closed (Child Protective Services, Adult Protective Services, and Mental Health Emergency Services open 24/7/365)
- Parks & Recreation Facilities & Programs: Administrative offices, centers, classes and leagues will be closed on Thursday and Friday. Parks and outdoor amenities will be open with some restrictions.
- Permitting and Inspection Services: Permit Office is closed. No building or trade inspections will take place. Online permitting is available. System is available for customer use and application submissions.
- Public Schools: Closed.
- Sheriff's Office: Administrative Offices closed Wednesday, Dec. 23, at 1 p.m., and Dec. 24-25
- Swimming Pools: For openings, see pool schedule.
- Treasurer's Office: Closed Dec. 24-25, but CAPP available for online payments.

- ART – Dec. 24: Regular schedule but Art Call Center closed. Dec. 25: ART 41, 42, 45, 51, 55, 77 and 87 will operate regular Sunday schedules. All other ART routes will not operate and the Customer Call Center will be closed.
- STAR –Dec. 24: STAR Call Center open. Dec. 25. The STAR Call Center will be closed and standing order rides, except for dialysis, will be canceled. Please call before the holiday to request a trip for Dec. 25 or the days after.
- Metro: Metrorail operates on a Sunday schedule from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. Metrobus routes operate on a Sunday schedule. Visit www.wmata.com/schedules/timetables.
