What's Open, Closed On Easter Holiday Weekend 2022 In Arlington

Whether it's the library or your favorite retailer, here's a look at what's open in Arlington on Easter.

ARLINGTON, VA — Whether you celebrate the Christian holiday of Easter, the Jewish holiday of Passover, the two holidays will overlap during the weekend of April 16-17. As the Easter holiday falls on a Sunday, closures may be limited.

Arlington County government does not typically close for Good Friday before Easter. However, there are a few service changes for services that do operate on Sundays.

Here's a look at what's open and closed in Arlington on Good Friday and Easter:

  • Arlington County government offices: Offices are open Friday, April 15.
  • Arlington Public Schools: The school district is on spring break through Friday, April 15.
  • Arlington Public Library: Open Friday, April 15 and Saturday, April 16. Closed on Sunday, April 17.
  • Arlington Public Schools pools: Open Friday, April 15 and Saturday, April 16. Closed Sunday, April 17.
  • Community Centers: Centers that are regularly scheduled to be open on Sundays will be closed Sunday, April 17, along with the Long Bridge Park Aquatic Center.
  • Arlington County Public Health COVID-19 vaccine clinics: Closed Sunday, April 17 and Monday, April 18, as usual.
  • Curative testing kiosks: Closed Sunday, April 17. Additionally, the kiosks at Sequoia and Court House will also be closed Saturday, April 16, as they transition to offering the rapid PCR tests at the Court House location
  • Metro: Metrorail has increased service the weekend of April 16 and 17 due to cherry blossom season. Metrorail be open at 7 a.m., and close at 1 a.m. Saturday and midnight Sunday. On the Blue, Orange and Silver Lines, trains run every 20 minutes. On Saturday, trains will bypass the Capital South station. from opening to no later than 7 p.m. Yellow Line trains run every 20 minutes. See more details about weekend service.

  • Ballston Quarter: Open noon to 6 p.m. Sunday, April 17.
