Here are the closures to know for the Independence Day holiday and events in Arlington.
ARLINGTON, VA — As residents get ready to celebrate the Fourth of July with fireworks, barbecues and travel, various closures and schedule changes are planned for services around Arlington.
The Independence Day holiday falls on Monday, July 4, which means some services will be closed for a three-day weekend. Arlington County government offices will be closed on July 4, and other services will have schedule changes.
Arlington National Cemetery will close public access to the Southern Expansion portion on July 4, which includes access to the Air Force Memorial.

Parking on the shoulders of Route 110 and Route 50 in both directions to watch the fireworks on the National Mall on July 4 is prohibited. Unattended vehicles found in violation will be ticketed and towed at the owner’s expense, according to the Arlington County Police Department.
Other nearby fireworks events are planned during the holiday.

Here's a list of what's open and closed in Arlington on Monday, July 4:
Arlington County government offices: Closed on Monday, July 4.
Arlington Public Schools: Students are on summer break, but July 4 is a holiday for all APS staff.
Courts: The Arlington Circuit Court, General District Court, Juvenile & Domestic Relations Court will be closed July 4.
Parking: Permit parking is always in effect unless specifically noted on the sign. Meters are not enforced on holidays.
ART Bus: ART 41, 42, 45, 51, 55 and 87 will operate on Sunday schedules. All other ART routes will not operate. The ART Customer Call Center will be closed.
Department of Motor Vehicles: All DMV customer service centers in Northern Virginia, including 4150 S Four Mile Run Dr., will be closed July 4.
COVID-19 clinics: Vaccine clinics will be closed. The Curative testing kiosks will be closed.
Libraries: On July 4, all Arlington County Library branches will be closed. Visit https://library.arlingtonva.us for more information.
Parks & Recreation Facilities & Programs: All Community Centers are closed. Admin Offices: Closed. Classes: Canceled. Centers: Closed. Leagues: Check with your league. Long Bridge Aquatics & Fitness Center: Closed. Parks: Open.
Animal Welfare League of Arlington: On Monday, July 4, Animal Welfare League of Arlington will be closed. The Arlington County Animal Control team can be reached for emergencies at 703-931-9241.
Metro: Metro will run on a Sunday holiday schedule on July 4. Metro has closed five Orange Line stations between Stadium-Armory and New Carrollton through Labor Day. Additional closures are planned during the summer on the Blue Line between Stadium-Armory and Benning Road. Check back for detailed weekend Metrorail information here.

Sheriff's Office: Administrative Offices closed. Public fingerprinting and in-person personal visits at the ACDF are suspended due to the pandemic until further notice.
