Whoopie Pie Truck Coming to Ballston Thursday and Friday

These aren't your convenience store whoopie pies: the gourmet baked goods will be touring Northern Virginia this year.

If you're in Ballston for lunch this Thursday and Friday ... how about a whoopie pie? Yes, a food truck will be in the area creating customized whoopie pies for anyone with a sweet tooth before embarking on a tour of Northern Virginia.

Little Miss Whoopie will be rolling up to Ballston at lunchtime on Thursday, July 28 and Friday, July 29 at various locations in the neighborhood, so be on the lookout for it, according to a company statement.

Beginning the week of Aug. 1, the truck will be headed to various locations throughout Northern Virginia, including Arlington, Fairfax and Alexandria. In the fall, the truck will expand into Washington, D.C. and be available for catered events and private parties.

Little Miss Whoopie's Facebook page showcases the wide range of whoopie pies available, including a classic banana whoopie pie with banana cream and nilla wafers, and a mocha chocolate whoopie that provides a hit of caffeine.

The truck is run by Cayce Carlisle and her mother, Robin Potter.

"The idea for the food truck came about when Cayce and Robin started looking for a location to open a bakery," the statement reads. "After falling in love with numerous sites throughout Northern Virginia and DC, they couldn't pick any one neighborhood to open their new place. This is when the idea of a food truck was first discussed as a way to bring their product to people in a variety of neighborhoods.

"As the idea for Little Miss Whoopie grew, so did their flavor combinations," the statement continues. "The truck will give control to the customer. There will be the favorite flavor combinations including the traditional chocolate with marshmallow filling. There will also be a 'create your own' menu, which will allow customers to pick their choice of cake flavor, filling and toppings. Customers will be able to choose the size of their whoopie pies – 'Sidekicks' and 'Heroes,' ranging from small bit-sized whoopies to sandwich-sized whoopies. Customers can also get a 'Super Heroes' which is an addition of a variety of topping."

You can also grab a Commonwealth Joe's Blue Ridge Bluff Iced Nitro Coffee while you're getting your whoopie pie, or a Cascade Beverage homemade soda.
