Woman Arrested After Taking A Swing At Police Officer: Report
Arlington County Police arrested two suspects in two unrelated assault cases, one of which involved an assault on a police officer.

ARLINGTON, VA — Arlington County Police arrested two individuals in connection with two different violent crime, including an assault on a police officer, according to the daily crime report.
In the first case, officers responded around 4:58 p.m., Tuesday, for the report of an assault in the 3800 block of Fairfax Drive in the Virginia Square area. They determined a woman known to the victim sprayed mace in the victim's face following a verbal dispute. Police broadcast a lookout for the suspect. The woman was located and taken into custody without incident in the 3200 block of Wilson Blvd.
ACPD arrested Errika Briggs, 24, of Landover, Maryland, and charged her with assault and battery by caustic agent. She is being held on an unsecured bond.

In the second case, ACPD officers responded around 8:10 p.m., Wednesday, to the report of a dispute in the 900 block of N. Stuart St., in the Ballston area. Arriving on the scene, the officers found that the parties involved in a physical altercation had separated. When they tried to make contact with the suspect, she walked away and ignored lawful commands to stop. As the officer tried to detain the woman, she freed herself from their grasp and swung her arm at them. With the help of additional officers, the woman was taken into custody.
ACPD arrested Kathy O’Neill, 62, of no fixed address, and charged her with assault & battery on police, two counts of assault & battery, and being drunk in public.
