Woman Assaulted At Knifepoint; Arlington Police Arrest Suspect

A woman walking in the Pentagon City area was attacked and assaulted at gunpoint Tuesday night. Arlington Police arrested a suspect.

ARLINGTON, VA -- Arlington County Police arrested and charged a suspect Tuesday with assaulting a woman at knifepoint near Pentagon City, according to the daily crime report.

ACPD Officers were dispatched Tuesday, Feb. 11, around 7:23 p.m., to the report of an assault near 18th Street S. at S. Ives. Arriving on the scene, officers learned from the victim that she was walking in the Pentagon City/Aurora Highlands area when the suspect knocked her to the ground, brandished a knife and assaulted her. After a witness yelled at the suspect, he fled the area on foot.

Responding officers located a man who matched the description of the suspect. His identity was later verified. The victim received minor injuries.

Arlington County Police arrested William Peoples, 25, of no fixed address, and charged him with Abduction with the Intent to Defile and Carrying a Concealed Weapon. He is being held without bail.
