Woman Crashes Car Twice On Christmas Day In Arlington: Police
A Falls Church woman was charged on Christmas Day with hit and run and abuse of a child in connection with two car crashes in Arlington.

ARLINGTON, VA — A Falls Church woman was charged on Christmas Day with hit and run and abuse of a child in connection with crashes on S. Glebe Road in Arlington, according to the Arlington County Police Department.
At about 1:25 p.m. on Dec. 25, police were dispatched to a report of a crash at S. Glebe Road and S. 24th Road.
As officers arrived at the scene, one of the cars involved in the initial crash fled the scene. Officers tried to stop the car, but the suspect continued driving fast in the area. Officers followed the vehicle from a distance, the Arlington police said in a crime report.

Police officers saw the suspect hit another vehicle at the intersection of S. Glebe Road and Walter Reed Drive, causing extensive damage, then come to a stop on Walter Reed Drive. The suspect got out of the car and was taken into custody without further incident.
The driver of the second vehicle in the initial crash suffered minor injuries. No injuries were reported in the second crash.

Meghan Smith, 25, of Falls Church was arrested and charged with hit and run; injury/damage greater than $1,000; eluding; and abuse and neglect of a child, according to the police. Smith is facing the child abuse charge because a child was in her car when she crashed both times, ARLnow reported.
Smith also was issued a summons for improper registration and no insurance. She was being held in jail on a secured bond, the police said.
