Police say the woman was combative after police detained her over theft from a nearby mall.

ARLINGTON, VA -- A woman is facing multiple charges after police say she stole from the Fashion Centre at Pentagon City and then attacked officers when they tried to arrest her.
Police were called to the 1200 block of S. Hayes Street -- the address of the mall -- just before 4 p.m. on Tuesday to a report of a larceny, according to a report from the Arlington County Police Department.
"Upon arrival, two suspects in possession of allegedly stolen merchandise were located at the metro and detained," the report states. "During the course of the investigation, one subject was determined not to be involved in the larceny and released. The second subject in possession of stolen merchandise became combative and allegedly kicked and spit at officers multiple times while they attempted to detain her."
