Woman Thwarts Burglar Who Shattered Bedroom Window: Police

Here’s a look at the most recent crime in Arlington County, courtesy of the Arlington County Police Crime Report released today (July 22, 2015):

UNLAWFUL ENTRY/DRUNK IN PUBLIC, 150721005, 5500 block of 8th Street S. A male subject attempted to gain entry to his estranged girlfriend’s home after a night of drinking.

BURGLARY, 150721017, Unit block of N Glebe Road. The victim called police after determining an unknown subject entered his auto repair facility during the overnight hours. There were no signs of forced entry however an employee found the front door ajar upon arrival for work this morning. There are no suspects at this time.

BREAKING AND ENTERING, 150721034, 1400 block of Key Boulevard. An unknown subject attempted to gain entry into the victim’s apartment by breaking a bedroom window. The victim heard the bedroom window shatter and saw the foot of the suspect, described as a black male, 6’00”, inside the bedroom. The victim yelled at the suspect who then fled the scene.

BURGLARY, 150721064, 1700 block of N Troy Street. 150721064, The victim called police after learning their storage unit had been entered and items taken. Some of the items were later recovered and it was determined there may have been a miscommunication with the building’s management company.
