Woman Sexually Assaulted Near Lee Highway: Police Report
Arlington County Police are looking for a suspect they say sexually assaulted a woman on a county trail.
ARLINGTON, VA — Arlington County Police are looking for a suspect in connection with a sexual assault that occurred Tuesday morning in the Lyon Village Park area, according to the daily crime report.
Officers were dispatched around 9:58 a.m., for the report of an assault that had just taken place in the 3100 block of Lee Highway. The victim told the officers she was walking on a trail when she noticed a man walking toward her. Turning around, she began to walk away, but the man increased his pace and closed the distance between them. He then grabbed her hip and touched her inappropriately. The victim shouted, which caused the man to run away. The victim was uninjured.
Police describe the suspect as a black man, age 35-40, with an afro. He was wearing shorts, a blue surgical mask, and a long-sleeved red flannel shirt with a white shirt underneath. This investigation remains ongoing.
