Woodbridge Man Arrested For Fatal Arlington Shooting
A 23-year-old Woodbridge man was arrested for the June 16 fatal shooting of a DC man in Arlington.

ARLINGTON, VA — A 23-year-old Woodbridge man has been arrested for the June 16 fatal shooting of a DC man that occurred in the residential area of S. Lowell Street, police said.
Daejon Tyrie Jones was arrested Saturday, June 17 at a residence in Stafford County and was taken into custody without incident, police said.
On the evening of June 16, police were called to the 2400 block of S. Lowell St. for the report of a shooting, and located one male victim — later identified as Adonis Wright, 35 — suffering from a gunshot wound.

Officers began performing lifesaving measures and then transported Wright to George Washington University Hospital, where he died from his injuries, police said.
At the time of the shooting, Jones fled from the scene before police arrived. Investigation revealed that Jones and Wright knew each other, and the shooting was a result of an argument between them, police said.

This shooting is an isolated incident and there is no indication of any continued threat to the community.
Jones is currently being held in the Arlington County Detention Facility.
