Firefighters Use Rope, Ladder Truck To Rescue Man Dangling From Scaffolding In Rosslyn

Arlington County Fire & Rescue crews rescued a worker Wednesday afternoon who was dangling from scaffolding in Rosslyn.

Arlington firefighters found the worker suspended in the air by their safety harness when they responded to the incident shortly before 4 p.m. The fire crews used a combination of rope rescue techniques and a ladder truck to bring the worker down.

ARLINGTON, VA — Arlington County Fire & EMS crews rescued a worker Wednesday afternoon who was dangling from scaffolding on the side of an office building in Rosslyn.

Firefighters found the worker suspended in the air by his safety harness when they responded to the incident shortly before 4 p.m. The fire crews used a combination of rope rescue techniques and a ladder truck to bring the worker down, the department said.

The worker is being evaluated by EMS and crews are in the process of clearing the scene, according to an Arlington Fire & EMS tweet.

The incident took place at an office building near the Safeway store on the 1500 block of Wilson Blvd., ARLNow reported. The rescue shut down Wilson Blvd. in Rosslyn.
