1 Man Dies, Another Seriously Injured In Loudoun Shooting: Police

The Loudoun Sheriff's Office said there is no further threat to the community and the office is not looking for any other suspects.

STERLING, VA — One man died and another man suffered serious injuries in a shooting in the Sugerland Run area of Sterling Sunday night, the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office said. Both men were taken to a local hospital where the one man later died.

Loudoun sheriff’s deputies responded to the intersection of Vermont Maple Terrace and Rusty Blackhaw Square shortly after 9 p.m. in response to multiple reports of gunfire. One of the seriously injured men was located along Rusty Blackhaw Square and the second man was found inside a nearby residence.

The man who died was Jeremiah D. Gray, 20, of Temple Hills, Maryland, the Loudoun Sheriff's Office said Monday morning. At this time, there is no indication of any threat to the community, according to the sheriff's office, which is not looking for any other suspects in the shooting.

The two men made arrangements to meet in the area on the north side of Route 7 across from the main entrance to Sterling Park. The meeting turned into an altercation that ended with the two men shooting at each other. The other man, who lives in the Sugerland Run area, remains hospitalized, according to the sheriff's office.
