7-Eleven Robber Sought In Sterling: Police

Authorities are looking for a man who tried to rob a 7-Eleven early Monday morning in Sterling before aborting the attempt: LCSO

STERLING, VA—Authorities are looking for a man who tried to rob a 7-Eleven early Monday morning in the 46100 block of Woodshire Drive before aborting the attempt when he saw a cop arrive, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office.

He's described as black with a thin build, and was wearing a grey ski mask, a black sweatshirt with a Nike Air Jordan logo and black pants and shoes. He fled in a waiting car near Gentry Drive. The car was described as being a light, four-door model.

Around 3:30 a.m., the man entered the store, flashed a handgun and demanded money. That's when saw a deputy pull up at the store, so he took off running toward the getaway car, driven by an unknown person.

The cop had arrived because he was one of several officers conducting business checks following two similar reported robberies Sunday night in Leesburg. Anyone with information is urged to call police at 703-777-1021.
