Accused Bank Robber Turns Fugitive, Skips Court Appearances In Fairfax, Loudoun Counties

Paul Peter Gerardi was charged with felony failure to appear after he skipped a May 5 hearing.

ASHBURN, VA – Bank robbery suspect Paul Peter Gerardi, 40, of Leesburg, failed to appear in court twice in the past three weeks and is now considered a fugitive.

Gerardi was arrested on April 14 in Loudoun County in connection with a bank robbery in Middleburg in March. The other suspect in that case took his own life the same day after barricading himself in a residence in Hamilton.

Gerardi is also facing robbery charges in other jurisdictions: in Fairfax County, where he failed to appear in the Fairfax County General District Court on April 20, and in Prince William County, where he has a hearing scheduled for May 27.

Loudoun Now reports that those charges are related to a robbery at a Wells Fargo bank in Great Falls in Fairfax County on March 30 and the robbery of a Capital One bank in Gainesville in Prince William County April 1.

He now faces felony failure to appear charges in Loudoun County.
