Broadlands resident, Sheril Schmidt, has found a way to combine two of her passions: shopping for pretty things and giving to charities. It’s called “Party with a Purpose”. The concept is to get together with other women and learn about the sponsored charity, either from the host of the party or, better yet, from a representative of the charitable organization. Then shop with your friends for pretty purses, personalized items to organize your home, even personalized cards or notepads – and 10% of the sales from the party will go to the sponsored charity. If the charity is a Christian non-profit organization that is aligned with the “Thirty-One Gives” mission to help women and girls and to strengthen families, Sheril will go “All-In” and give 100% of her commissions – 25% of sales – directly to the charity.
