Ashburn Man Identified As Victim In Fatal Loudoun County Parkway Crash
The 59-year-old was hit by a car while riding an electric standing scooter, deputies say.
ASHBURN, VA – The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office has identified the victim of Tuesday's fatal crash as Tesfu Desta, 59, of Ashburn.
According to the sheriff's office, deputies responded to Loudoun County Parkway between Waxpool Road and Uunet Drive just after midnight after reports that a man was lying in the road. They found Desta unresponsive, and he was later pronounced dead.
Deputies say Desta was riding a stand-up electric scooter when he was struck by a 2026 Acura sedan. They say the sedan driver stayed on the scene and that their investigation is ongoing.
