Attempted Robbery In Sterling Ends In Gunfire, Arrest
An Ohio man was arrested Saturday after he assaulted and attempted to rob a man and his mother-in-law, according to police.
STERLING, VA — An Ohio man was arrested over the weekend in connection with an attempted robbery, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office. During the robbery, a bystander also took out a firearm and shot several rounds, allowing him to detain the suspect, police said.
Jeremiah Bradley, 24, was charged with attempted robbery and two counts of assault and battery in connection with the incident. According to police, the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office responded to the area of Holiday Park Drive in Sterling around 9:20 a.m. Aug. 10. The victim reported that Bradley, who was unknown to him, assaulted him and his mother-in-law and attempted to rob then. It was then the bystander brandished a personal firearm and discharged three rounds before detaining the suspect until deputies arrived.
No one was injured by the discharged rounds, police said. Bradley is being held at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center on no bond. The incident is still under investigation.
