Barbara Ellis Joins Northern Virginia Conscious Business Alliance Board of Directors as VP Community Engagement

Barbara Ellis has joined the board of directors for the Northern Virginia Conscious Business Alliance (NOVACBA) as vice president for community engagement. NOVACBA is a non-profit organization formed by a group of educators and business professionals to promote conscious business practices and their potential for helping the local business community to thrive.

Ellis, from Ashburn, Virginia, is an associate director for Stella & Dot, a company that offers jewelry and accessories. She has extensive experience in the retail industry.

“I joined NOVACBA because I wanted a way to integrate growing my business while helping others. NOVA CBA gives me the opportunity to develop my skills as a leader for both my team and my community, helping others align their purpose and passion while creating successful businesses,” Ellis said.

Having worked both on the store side leading multi-store teams and on the corporate side as the executive responsible for nationwide merchandising and marketing initiatives, Ellis learned to focus on bringing all the moving parts of a retail operation together to provide a best-in-class customer experience. She saw the direct correlation between her staff being extremely focused on taking good care of every customer and growing profits.

Ellis has helped over 150 people start their own successful businesses in direct sales and ranks in the top 10 in sales out of 40,000 Stella & Dot representatives in North America.

Ellis is a speaker for topics relating to personal branding, style and leadership and her work has been featured in Personal Branding Magazine, Online Business Tips, and the Huffington Post.
