The Ashburn Farm Barracudas won the Blue Division title in the Colonial Swim league today with a win over the Arlington Knights of Columbus Holy Mackerels 274 to 170 points. The Barracudas are undefeated for the season and have won a division trophy for the first time since 2006. Congratulations to the swimmers, their coaches and to head coach Stephen Clendenin for a fantastic season.
As if the Division title weren’t enough, the Girls 200 Meter Medley Relay team of Brooke Matthias, Michaela Wilson, Alyssa Coon and Grace Boyles set a new league record today with a time of 2:14.80. This beats the old record set (also by the Barracudas) back in 2004 by 0.53 seconds. A hearty congratulations to this incredible relay team!

The strongest age bracket for the Barracudas this week was the 11-12 Boys who scored a 31 out of a possible 36 points. This group also won their relay. The 13-14 Girls followed with 27 out of a possible 36 points and, as noted above, handily won their relay.
Brooke Mathias completed her season sweep this week by winning all three of her individual events, this means she entered every race possible and won every one of them at every meet this season. Remarkably, this is the second year in a row that Brooke has achieved a perfect season. Also winning 15 points this week were Alyssa Coon, Taylor Coon, and Maria Stalcup. Avery Hiller took 13 points.
