LUCKETTS, VA — A body was found inside a house early Wednesday morning that had been ravaged by a fire in the rural area of Bald Hill Road and Steed Hill Lane, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office. There are not yet details available about the cause of death, the cause of the fire or the victim's identity. The Loudoun County Fire Marshal's Office is investigating.

Shortly after 5 p.m. Tuesday, a fire unit was dispatched to the scene after a passerby reported seeing smoke in the area. Upon arrival, it found a two-story, single-family home with fire on both the first and second floors. Other area fire units responded to the blaze.

Problematic was home's location. There were no nearby fire hydrants, and the home had a narrow driveway. Ditto for access roads. Firefighters worked through the night until the fire was extinguished. That's when authorities entered what was left of the home and found the body.
