believes the Bible is the inspired Word of God, a divine revelation from God to man. The congregation accepts the Scriptures as the final authority in all matters of faith and conduct (II Timothy 3:16-17 & II Peter 1:19-21).

When the Babylonians defeated the nation of Israel and the people were taken captive, God instructed them through the prophet Jeremiah, “Seek the peace of the city where I have caused you to be carried away captive, and pray to the LORD for it; for in its peace you will have peace” (Jeremiah 29:7 NKJV). While this command served to benefit the Jews, God was also demonstrating His love for the inhabitants of Babylon who did not know Him. Moreover, He was using the Jews, even in their unfortunate circumstances, to be a blessing to those around them. So, we too as the body of believers are called to pray for the communities in which we live and thus like the children of Israel be a blessing. It is in this spirit that members of Capital Community set out on Saturday, Aug. 27, 2011, on their annual Prayer Walk.
One of the chief ways that the Body of Christ can serve its community is through prayer, simply because as human beings we are limited, but God isn’t. So braving the threats of Hurricane Irene, pastoral staff and members of Capital Community fanned out to pray for almost 60 elementary, middle and high schools and facilities in various cities and townships throughout Loudoun County, which encompassed multiplied thousands of families and tens of thousands of souls. Among the topics for which Capital Community prayed were, protection for students and staff of each school against all forms of harm; strength and wisdom for faculty and staff members; a fruitful and productive year for all; the strengthening of marriages and families in the surrounding communities; and restoration of broken homes. John 3:16 tells us that “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life” (NKJV). Likewise, because the Church also loves the world, Capital Community prays!

The Word of God commands us in Philippians 4:6-7 to not worry, but to instead lift up every concern to the Lord in prayer. When we do this, we are promised a peace that surpasses human understanding. Capital Community Church is committed to prayer.
Prayer is an exciting component of the Christian life and this includes interceding for the concerns that affect us as individuals. Isaiah 61:1-5 encourages us as a body of believers to minister to those who are hurting, whether it is emotionally, spiritually or physically. It is the desire at Capital Community to pray for those who are in such a crisis. Just in case you are curious about whether the congregation prayed for your child’s school, please see the listing below.
Capital Community also has a youth ministry comprised of students who are tired of the norm and ready to have a real encounter with a real God. The youth believe life is what you make of it so everyone has decided to make it the best life that it can be. Their goal is to assist people to build growing relationships with Jesus Christ by establishing environments where they can interact with other teens that have a similar desire to experience a real, relevant, lasting relationship with Christ. The youth are reaching out to teens of all shapes, sizes and colors and will do everything to demonstrate to them that each teen is welcomed and loved.

Quench International Ministries exists to: 1) Encourage women to connect to the Lord Jesus Christ, to their local church families, and to their respective communities and beyond. This is accomplished specifically through (annual) conferences with visiting guest speakers in large group sessions and speakers from the CCC’s women’s ministry in small group sessions. 2) Encourage, train, and provide opportunities for members of CCC’s women’s ministry to develop and use their natural and spiritual gifts by serving in the Quench Conference.
