Dinner and a Movie at Cobb Theaters

Let's face it: dinner and a movie costs a lot more than it used to. Add the rising cost of fuel and you've got yourself one heck of an expensive Friday night. What if you could combine the two? Not only will it save you a bit on gas, it will cut down the risk of missing the previews due to traffic, a slow-to-respond waiter or a slow-to-respond significant other who's greatly enjoying their third margarita at T.G.I Fridays (I hate it when that happens).

Cobb Theaters, located at 1600 Village Market Blvd. in Leesburg, is a 12-screen theater that offers more than just a place to catch the latest flicks. It is also an upscale grill and full-service bar rolled into one awesome looking establishment. Think ticket prices are through the roof? Not so. Ticket prices are still $10.50 and $12.50 for adults, $7.50 and $9.50 for children ages 2 to 12 and $8.50 and $10.50 for seniors 62 years old and up. Military and matinee discounts are also available.

So, what's exactly available at the Cobb? In addition to standard movie theater fare (popcorn, candy), Cobb Theaters also offers delicious dishes such as coconut shrimp, pita chips and hummus and barbecue chicken nachos (yes, at the theater!) The best part: simply grab what you want a la cafeteria-style and pay for it at the cash register. Meaning: no more standing in line while the guy in front of you debates whether or not he wants to upgrade to a large size of popcorn for an additional 75 cents!

Another awesome perk? A full-service bar that allows you to take your drink with you if you don't finish it before the start of the show. You can't even do that at most restaurants. Major brownie points for Cobb Theaters on that fact alone.

The theater also offers stadium-style seating with custom-designed, reclining seats, huge high-grain movie screens, a handful of Real-D 3D screens and D-Box seating, which brings the action you see on the big screen to the seat of your pants—literally. Whenever Angeline Jolie or Brad Pitt takes a sharp turn down a dark alley to avoid the bad guy, your seat moves with them. Pretty neat.

Once the movie is done, feel free to wander the streets and shops of the Village at Leesburg. You can also get a massage at Massage Envy, bowl at King Pinz or eat some fro-yo at Pinkberry. The mixed use neighborhood also features a Wegmans, restaurants, a salon, fitness center, dental office and other businesses.
