8 ways to protect yourself from cold weather on road.

With Fall coming to a close end, AAA World issued some important guidelines recently in the wake of upcoming winter. It has urged drivers for prior car maintenance to avoid being stranded on snowy roads that could be life threatening.

Just follow these tips from AAA and you would protect yourself and your vehicle from any mishap.

  1. Have brakes, fluids, exhaust system and defroster/heater checked by a certified technician to make sure they are in good working condition.
  2. Change your oil and filter on regular basis.
  3. A clear windshield is necessary for safe driving thus replace wind shield wipers and refill washer fluid.
  4. Maintain tire pressure as recommended by vehicle manufacturer.
  5. Get your vehicle battery tested.
  6. Check and change hoses and belts that have cracks.
  7. Keep a charged cell phone handy to make any emergency calls.
  8. Equip your car with an emergency kit that includes a shovel, ice scraper, sand, jumper cables, blanket, gloves, flashlight, batteries, first-aid box, batteries, non perishable food, water.
