Varicose Veins are Common Cause of Blood Clots

I saw a patient in the Leesburg, VA office today who had the sudden onset of pain and tenderness in his left leg upon arising in the morning. He had rather straight forward varicose veins in the same area for several years but had neglected having them evaluated or treated.
