Cars Stolen, Broken Into, And Keyed: Loudoun County Crime Report

Over the weekend, several crimes related to cars were reported across Loudoun County, including some that were stolen or vandalized.

LOUDOUN COUNTY, VA — Over the weekend, several crimes related to cars were reported to the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office. Some vehicles were stolen while other had mirrors shattered, were keyed, were egged, or were robbed of their catalytic converters.

Here is the full list of incidents across Loudoun County over the weekend, as reported by the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office.

Two vehicles were reported stolen, authorities said. In Chantilly, a man reported that he had left his car running while he went inside a restaurant to get food on Friday afternoon. When he returned, someone had stolen his silver 2015 Volkswagen GTI, police said.

Another vehicle was stolen on Friday in Sterling, near Thomas Jefferson Drive and Community Plaza. A man reported that someone stole his 1998 green Honda Civic. Authorities did not provide a license plate number or any other identifying characteristics.

Multiple incidents of vandalism were also reported over the weekend. On Friday in Sterling, a man reported that eggs were thrown at his car in the 47400 block of Riverbank Forest Place. In Ashburn, in the 43100 block of Thistledown Terrace, a woman claimed that someone keyed her car.

No arrests were made in either incident, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office.

Throughout the weekend, there were several instances where items were stolen from cars, according to the police report. A purse, credit cards, and jewelry were stolen from a car in Sterling.

Catalytic converters were also stolen from three different vehicles in Sterling, according to the sheriff's office.

Authorities encouraged residents to keep their car doors locked to prevent thefts. They also recommend people avoid keeping anything of value, like electronics, jewelry, wallets, or firearms, in their vehicle.

In Ashburn, a cyclist was struck by an unknown vehicle on Saturday morning. The vehicle fled the scene, and the man on the bike was taken to a hospital with serious injuries.
