Chesterbrook Academy Students Donate Food to Local Nonprofit

Students collected and sorted more than 120 pounds of nonperishable food donations to benefit Loudoun Hunger Relief

Students at Chesterbrook Academy Preschool Brambleton in Ashburn recently donated more than 120 pounds of food to Loudoun Hunger Relief, a local food pantry. The donations were the result of a school-wide food drive to help stock the organization’s shelves and feed local families in need during the holiday season. During the drive, students learned about different food groups while helping to sort and prepare the items for delivery. Through this initiative, students learned the importance of giving back to the community.

Loudoun Hunger Relief (LHR), formerly Loudoun Interfaith Relief, is the largest food pantry in Loudoun County. Last year, LHR provided 1.2 million pounds of food to more than 8,000 individuals. Forty percent of those served are children. LHR distributes food to families six days a week, year-round.
