Community Comes Together to make 2,500 Care Packages

On Saturday, November 9, 2013 Foster Care to Success had a packing event to make care packages for students who have aged out of the Foster Care system.  There will be many happy college students!!  

Lots of people from all over the community filled the parking lot outside of the Foster Care to Success office. 

Before people started packing boxes they had to set up.  Everyone worked together.  There were many people including kids eager to help.  

“This Saturday morning, we will assemble 2,500 care packages for our college students across the country who receive Foster Care to Success scholarships and mentoring support.  We’ve got good company, good work for an excellent cause, and coffee or hot chocolate what better way to spend a few hours?" said Lynn Davis of Foster Care to Success

People helped build boxes, sort supplies, pack boxes, and seal boxes.  There were lots of boxes packed and we used up a lot of the supplies.  The care packages had hair products, stationary supplies, band aids, stickers, coffee and several DVDs.  Everyone had lots of fun.   

Caring Kids Cards was at the event with our friends and had an amazing time.
