Concert to Benefit Fight Against Human Trafficking and Families in Crisis

Worship leaders from across Northern Virginia to join in a powerful performance of Contemporary Christian Music

A team of worship leaders from across northern Virginia is coming together for a powerful performance of contemporary Christian music in a special concert to benefit the fight against human trafficking and family crises. “A Time to Worship” will feature singers and musicians from Crossroads United Methodist Church, Grace Covenant Church, Loudoun Bible Church and New Birth Community Church, to benefit Northern Virginia Human Trafficking Initiative (NOVA HTI) and Friendship Bridge, a program coordinated by Crossroads UMC that provides immediate short-term help to those in financial crisis.

Rudy Fenner, organizer of the concert, says that “After hearing about the issue of human trafficking at a service at McLean Bible Church, I was compelled to get involved. And, knowing about the emergency help that Crossroads UMC’s Friendship Bridge provides to people in need, I felt this concert would be perfect vehicle to bring people together – our singers, musicians, the community and donors – to support both causes.” The concert will also feature Richmond-based Bryan Pound, who managed to merge soul, jazz, gospel, contemporary Christian, and pop music into his debut CD, “Reality”.

Fenner says, “Tickets are free but of course, we’re hoping that people will donate generously so that both NOVA HTI and Friendship Bridge can receive funding. Everything that we raise will go to those two causes, so even if you can’t attend, we invite people to donate.”
