ASHBURN, VA — An unruly man assaulted a police officer during a scuffle Saturday morning in the 20000 block of Lazy River Terrace, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office. Glenn A. French, 47, of Fairfax, was charged with assault on law enforcement, public intoxication and hindering. He was released on a personal recognizance bond.

Around 8:15 a.m., police responded to the scene for a report that a man had more or less taken a victim's dog all the while acting in an aggressive manner. French was known to the victim. Police made contact with him in the parking lot and he refused to follow commands. At one point, he grabbed a deputy's vest and a struggle ensued. And that was the end of that.
