Cops Assaulted By Raging Man In Ashburn
A Sterling man is being held without bond after assaulting two arresting officers in Ashburn: Loudoun County Sheriff's Office.

ASHBURN, VA — A Sterling man is being held without bond after being involved in an assault during an argument and then trying to assault arresting officers before unsuccessfully fleeing on foot early Saturday morning in the 22000 block of Landmark Court, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office. Richard L. Paige, 54, was charged with two counts of assault on a law enforcement officer, malicious wounding. kidnapping, strangulation, simple assault, destroying a phone line with intent, obstruction of justice and resisting arrest. He also was served with three outstanding probation violation warrants.
Shortly before 1:30 a.m., police arrived at the scene and found Paige in the parking lot. During the arrest, he resisted and tried to assault the officers before taking off on foot.
