Destructive Stolen-Car Joyride Fizzles In Sterling

A man who stole a vehicle with the keys in it went on quite the destructive joy ride Saturday in Sterling: Loudoun County Sheriff's Office.

STERLING, VA — A man who stole a vehicle with the keys in it in the 46000 block of Stonehelm Court went on quite the destructive joy ride Saturday before being arrested, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office. Brandon Hernandez, 18, of Herndon, was charged with public intoxication, underage possession of alcohol and hindering a police investigation.

Police say after stealing the vehicle, Hernandez ran into another vehicle parked nearby. He then struck several mailboxes throughout the neighborhood before leaving the vehicle running in a Birchfield Court driveway and fleeing.
